Afghanistan

Since the invasion by Soviet’s Union into Afghanistan, the beautiful country fell into the dark war, between various countries’ political games.
Then the 9-11 synchronized terrorist attacks in 2001 led Afghanistan into further mess and out of control.
In fact, all encounters I had in the country during my stay made me deeply sad. That made my heart and also my fingers to click my camera heavy.
The long lasting war in Afghanistan grew dark shadows and formed a tunnel which does not show the exit. Still I looked for the light and hope in that tunnel in the total darkness.

アフガニスタン

アフガニスタンの混乱はソ連軍の進攻で始まった。
それ以来、様々な国の思惑に翻弄され、美しいこの国は、絶望と悲しみで暗く覆われていった。
2001年9月11日の同時多発テロによって更に、アフガニスタンという国はその在り方を見失っていった。
僕自身、この国での出会いは悲しいものばかりだった。それらが僕の気持ちを重たくし、シャッターまでをも重たくしていった。
この長く続く戦争という非日常が落とした影は、色濃く映り、やがて長いトンネルとなり、この国を暗く落としている。それでも僕は、その真っ暗な闇の中で、光を求めて暗中模索を続けた。
