The Sahara Desert (about 5.6 million square kilometers) is spreading by thousands of square kilometers every year.
It is as if it were a cancerous cell that affects the African continent.
In the Sahel region, which stretches in the sub-Sahara region go through drought and starvation every year.
Even in the country that is said to be one of the poorest in the world, disparities exist.
In some houses, people enjoy foreign movies with a cup of delicious tea in a comfortable, air-conditioned room.
On the other hand, most families find it difficult to afford even today’s meals.
The yellow and sandy horizon coming from the Sahara is frighteningly beautiful.
The cruel sunlight, the stifling heat, the dry air mixed with dust. All create a sense of discomfort and reminds me that I am alive.

ニジェール

サハラ砂漠（約560万平方キロ）が毎年、数千平方キロの規模で広がっている。
まるでアフリカ大陸を冒すがん細胞のように。
サハラ以南に帯状に広がるサヘル地域では毎年のように干ばつや飢餓が繰り返される。世界最貧国のひとつと言われている国でも格差社会が存在する。
ある家ではクーラーの効いた快適な部屋で美味しい紅茶で外国映画を楽しむ。
その一方で今日の食事だって手に入れることが困難な家族がほとんどを占める。サハラからやってくる砂に囲まれた黄色い地平線が怖いくらいに美しい。
何者も寄せ付けない強い日差しと息苦しく纏わりついてくる暑さ。
砂塵の混じったその乾燥した空気が不快感を生み、今、生きているということを呼び起こしてくれる。
