“PornoGraffitti”
As a photojournalist, I have covered many conflicts in the world. When it comes to using those pictures to express myself, naturally I found a strong wish within me to contribute to peace.
Wherever it is, East or West, once a war erupts, people become more and more aggressive out of hatred for, and for fear of, their enemies.That leads to indiscriminative killings and excessive destruction of buildings and even a whole town. Those scenes are all too familiar to me.
What if, to confess my personal imagination, the site of street fighting is covered with paintings of beautiful naked women…?
For sure there are female soldiers on the ground. But still it’s mainly men who lose their mind fighting on the front line.
What if the daunting and distressful war zone is covered with erotic graffiti, PornoGraffitti? Wouldn’t it help reduce the excessive aggressiveness?.
Wouldn’t it help, ultimately, eliminate wars and bring peace to the world?
Just a personal thought.
…but with full of such a wishful thought.
Porno Graffitti/ポルノグラフィティ
僕は世界各地の紛争地での撮影を続けている。本業のフォトジャーナリストとして写真を使って何かを表現をする際にはもちろん平和への貢献・欲望という想いがある。
洋の東西を問わず、ある土地で戦争が起こると敵への憎しみや恐怖から人々はどんどん攻撃的になっていく。
それが無差別な虐殺だったり、過剰な建物や街の破壊に繋がっていく。そんな場面をこれまでに嫌というほど見てきた。
ここからはあくまでも個人的な希望だが、戦いの現場となる街中に美しい女性のヌードが描かれていたり、モチーフとなっていたら…
最前線で狂気となって戦っているのは今でもほとんどが男性である。（女性兵士ももちろん存在するがやっぱり絶対的に男性の方が多い）
そんな心の荒むような悲惨な現場がもしHな落書き（PornoGraffitti）で包まれていたら、もしかしたら過剰な攻撃性も少しは和らぐのではないか？
そしてその結果、いつか戦争がこの世からなくなって平和になるのではないか？
あくまでも僕個人の希望だが。
そんな想いを込めて。
